HUGE moment missed between John Stones and Raheem Sterling in a blank against Manchester City
While the procession of a parade of honor greeting Manchester City onto the pitch may be familiar to Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling, his perspective on this occasion was entirely different.
His gaze was drawn skyward first, then down the line to his former teammates, who were clapping loudly ahead of the game.
The £45 million signing joined Chelsea last summer in quest of increased playing time and a move closer to home.
With the 28-year-old still harboring great dreams, this was not an easy decision.
Few players are guaranteed a place in Guardiola’s starting lineup, and Thomas Tuchel saw Sterling as an important component of upgrading Chelsea’s offense.

Sterling stated upon the announcement: “First and foremost, it’s a pleasure to be here.
“I’ve obviously achieved a lot in my career so far, but there is still so much more to achieve, and I’m really looking forward to doing that in a Chelsea shirt under Thomas’s management.”
Sterling once drove into the City box and beat Kyle Walker with a fast turn to get a shot off.
Stefan Ortega got a low hand to the close-range shot, but it still went in until John Stones knocked it off the line.
Following a short hug from the defender, they exchanged smiles and the Man City defender looked to say “so close.”
Something Chelsea is far from, with their opponents likely to more than double the Blues’ point total.
Chelsea’s summer signing was booed throughout the game, and his old fans mocked him when chances were squandered.
Their admiration was evident when he was replaced. The Etihad Stadium erupted in ovation for the winger, who spent seven years with the club.
